Did you ever think slathering fat from a prehistoric bird might become part of your daily routine? Celebrities like Kate Walsh, Demi Moore, Melanie Griffith and Goldie Hawn have all adopted the latest trend and are using products containing Emu oil as part of their beauty regime. Emu oil comes from the thick layer of subcutaneous fat on the back of an emu. It is known for its moisturizing properties and used in skin care and beauty products for the body, skin, nails and hair. While the Hollywood beauties seemed to be thrilled with this idea, the emu’s don’t appear too happy about it!
A Tasty Treat
Jell-o isn’t just a snack that’s friendly to the waistline. Celebs like Claudia Schiffer have admitted to making their own beauty cocktail by mixing a bit of Jell-o powder with water and a dab of clear lip-gloss to make a natural tinted stain. Just be sure to use strawberry or cherry flavors, the blueberry or lime might leave a nasty stain that will have you looking like you just got in a cat fight!
A Not So Tasty Treat
While filming her new show “The Price of Beauty” in Mumbai, India, Jessica Simpson drank distilled cow urine in hopes to beautify her skin! Research shows that cow urine has been known to detoxify the body and have excellent benefits for the skin. I think we all know just how important detoxification is to keep a healthy body, but cow urine? Really? I think a safer bet would be to opt for healthy eating habits, diet and exercise. Let’s leave the cow urine to Jessica, she’s paid the price for us all.
Pucker Up
Mariah Carey doesn’t mess around with all of the new lip plumping agents on the market these days. She plumps up the volume of her pucker the all natural way – with pure mint extract. She mixes a few drops of this with her favorite gloss to get blood flowing and has luscious lips in no time at all. Surely, Nick doesn’t mind smooching this minty fresh pair!
Take a Bite!
Hollywood is buzzing about a new trend in anti-aging skincare… faux snake venom! Syn-ake is new product line that contains a synthetic neuro peptide that mimics a protein in the paralyzing venom of the temple viper that temporarily freezes facial muscles in an effect similar to, but not as long lasting as Botox. Stars such as Debra Messing, Drew Barrymore and Britney Spears are all throwing hissy fits over these “snake venom” products. Don’t worry ladies, these product work just as well as real venom, it just lacks the bite!
