Celebrity Plastic Surgery - Hot or Not?

Here are some celebrity plastic surgery stories with happy endings!  They knew what to fix and when to quit...resulting in a much more natural outcome!  The moral of this story: find a plastic surgeon who can enhance your beauty, not totally change it!

Maybe it’s her newly wed glow, but Megan Fox is looking more stunning than ever.  Tabloids are making speculations of her going under the knife for multiple facial procedures and a breast augmentation.  Either way, she looks great!  Now, if we can just work on that attitude problem…

It’s hard to tell if our “Friend”, Jennifer Aniston has had plastic surgery and that’s when you know it is done right!  We do know one thing though, she has had a nose job!  She told People "I had (a deviated septum) fixed - best thing I ever did. I slept like a baby for the first time in years."  ... And just so happened to make her look even more beautiful!  Jennifer is also rumored to have had a modest breast augmentation and maybe even more facial procedures, but she won’t let us in on the truth!

Kate Hudson finally gave in... she bought herself new breasts for her 31st birthday!  It appears she has small implants which fit the rest of her body nicely.  Another lovely example of how less can be more.

Ashlee Simpson underwent rhinoplasty to straighten her crooked nose.  Ashlee’s new nose makes her whole face look softer and less edgy.  She insists that there is nothing wrong with going under the knife to enhance your looks, but people should take it seriously.  It’s not like shopping for a new pair of shoes.  Ashlee said, “If people want to get surgery, it's a personal thing. But it's not something anyone should rush into. Once it's done, it's done.

The infamous mommy of eight, Kate Gosselin, looks great after her tummy tuck!  A popular procedure for mom’s to get their pre-baby body back, the tummy tuck made a world of difference for Kate.  Though it appears she may have had more work done because of her fantastic body, she denies any other type of cosmetic surgery.  Kate says she stays fit by keeping up with her handful of little ones!

Demi Moore Sheds Light on Rumored Plastic Surgery

It’s no secret that many celebs turn to plastic surgery to maintain a picture perfect image.  Looking at different stars, it’s sometimes too easy to tell which one’s have had some help, while others keep us guessing.

There has always been speculation that actress Demi Moore, 47, has spent millions on cosmetic surgery to keep her body looking great.  Up until this year she has denied ever having any work done…  Demi finally gives in to ELLE Magazine when asked how she stays looking so young in her late 40‘s.  She admits that she in fact has had a bit of nip and tuck.

“It just irritates me that people are constantly saying how much I’ve spent on plastic surgery.  I have had something done, but it’s not on my face.”

This makes Demi a perfect example of how it is very possible to have natural looking plastic surgery without fake or undesirable results

Though it’s hard to believe Demi’s face is aging so gracefully with barely any wrinkles or sagging, no one can prove otherwise.  If she has had any facial work done, she hides it nicely.

Demi also admits that being in the spotlight caused her to be obsessed with her appearance.  For Demi, the description “workout junkie” is an understatement.  Moore “dominated’ her body by strict dieting and vigorous exercise.  She tells ELLE, “The irony is that when I abandoned that desire to dominate my body, it actually became the body that I’d always wanted.”

Now Demi has toned it down a bit, conditioning her body with yoga and pilates and sticking to a solely organic diet.  All we know is that whatever Demi is doing, it is obviously working!

Plastic Surgery - Nashville Style!

Even though Hollywood may take first place for celebrity plastic surgery, don’t underestimate Nashville for coming in a close second. This week’s Country Music Association awards show featured many country starlets that have had a little nip and tuck to keep them looking young and fresh this season.

That’s right, designer gowns weren’t the only thing country singers such as Carrie Underwood, LeAnn Rimes, and Kellie Pickler strutted down the red carpet this week.

Take a peek at the event slideshow below to find out which nominees are rumored to have had plastic surgery.

Plastic Surgery Patients We Wish Had Restrained Themselves

In Hollywood, getting plastic surgery is almost like going out to grab coffee. There are many fortunate celebrities that have beautiful outcomes – a better version of themselves. And then there are those, such as the ones on this list that just make you cringe. Take a look at some of the all-time worst celebrity nose jobs.

LaToya Jackson – This superstar is a true believer in strong family ties. So much so that she decided to follow the Jackson tradition of getting a (terrible) nose job.  LaToya used to be one class act, but now she looks more like a circus freak show.

Jocelyn Wildenstein – Also known as the Cat Lady is no stranger to plastic surgery. She has reportedly spent millions on different procedures to alter every part of herself in an attempt to resemble a lioness to win the heart of a man.  Although her plan didn’t work out so well, I think we can all learn a little something from the Cat Lady - it is important to have surgery for yourself and no one else!

Joan Rivers – The queen of criticism loves to give her opinions about how every other celebrity looks, but who is out there to give her a dose of her own medicine? Someone needs to hand her a mirror so she will realize that she looked much better before her tiny pinched in nose was “sculpted”.

Lil Kim – This pint-sized rapper is as tough as nails and does not allow anyone to push her around. It is absolutely baffling how she allowed her plastic surgeon to leave her with a pointy Pinocchio looking nose!

Michael Jackson – The king of pop will always be known for his music, but a close second has to be his tumultuous relationship with plastic surgery. His nose may unfortunately be one of the most well known in the industry for poor plastic surgery.

"Natural" Plastic Surgery Outcomes

It’s everywhere you turn - the latest gossip magazines, celebrity talk shows, the evening news and even in the most recent movies. What are we talking about? Poor plastic surgery outcomes - and according to a recent article in the New York Times, Hollywood has had enough of it!
That’s right, the jury is in on this one - Hollywood’s most elite casting directors are rumored to have turned away some of today’s leading ladies and gentlemen in search for more “natural” looking actors and actresses. While an over chiseled image might have turned the heads of many in the past, a more genuine appearance is highly sought after in today’s show business.
Women, specifically, seem to feel the pressure to look more youthful these days, many resist the mere thought of plastic surgery in fear of looking “overdone” or “fake”.  However, most wives, moms and professional women aren’t looking to dramatically change their appearance but are looking for a subtle difference and to look slightly more youthful.
To achieve natural looking result in plastic surgery, there are two key factors 1.) Finding an experienced board certified plastic surgeon and 2.) Having realistic expectations. Plastic surgery should in no way, completely alter your appearance, but rather enhance your natural beauty.
While it is highly unlikely that Hollywood will put a screeching halt to all cosmetic procedures, they certainly seem to be catching the drift of what a great plastic surgery outcome should look like.
Here at Aesthetic Enhancements Plastic Surgery, board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Armando Soto is fully committed to high quality surgical care and patient satisfaction.  After an initial consultation, Dr. Soto can better understand your goals and tell you what you can realistically expect.
Having any surgical procedure is an important decision, and it’s even more important to choose your surgeon wisely! We look forward to helping you be on your way to a happier you!

Hollywood Backlash on Cosmetic Procedures

Recently, stars such as Dana Delaney, Lisa Rinna and Kim Kardashian have been featured in magazines proclaiming their lack of satisfaction with cosmetic procedures, mainly Botox and fillers.  Audrina Patridge and Jessica Alba have also gone on record to state they would NEVER have plastic surgery. But wait a second; hasn’t Audrina had a breast augmentation?  Hmmm….Sounds like it might not be the plastic surgery but the work the plastic surgeon they chose they aren’t so happy with.

For the small handful of vocal Hollywood women that state their dissatisfaction, there are thousands of Hollywood starlets and women that are thrilled with their outcome and would rather keep hush hush about the cosmetic procedures they’ve had to maintain a refreshing, youthful look.

Any surgical procedure, including injectables and fillers such as Botox and Juvederm, come with risks. These risks are greatly diminished by visiting a trained provider that has extensive experience in the procedure that they are performing. A patient that understands their goals and has realistic expectations is far more likely to be satisfied with the results of cosmetic procedures.

Here at our Orlando Plastic Surgery, Skin Care and Hair Restoration Center, both board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Armando Soto, and Nurse Practitioner, Michelle Boone have many years of expertise in a variety of cosmetic procedures. They would be delighted to meet with you and find out how they can help you achieve your aesthetic goals.  Call today to set up a consultation to meet Dr. Soto or Michelle!  407.218.4550.

A Little History on Plastic Surgery

Despite what some may think, plastic surgery wasn’t always just for the rich and famous! Interestingly enough, the history of plastic surgery began more than 4,000 years ago!  The first documented surgical procedures date way back to 800 B.C. in India where physicians used skin grafts for reconstructive work.  However, plastic surgery progressed at a very slow rate for hundreds of years.  It wasn’t until the 20th century that plastic surgery really established itself in the medical field in the U.S.

So, why is it called plastic surgery?  There is a common misconception surrounding the word “plastic” in plastic surgery.  Plastic is actually derived from the ancient Greek word “plastikos”, which means to mold or to give form.  In 1827, America's very first plastic surgeon, Dr. John Mettauer, practiced his talent of “plastikos” by performing the first cleft palate operation with instruments he designed himself!

In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, there was an increase in the demand for plastic surgeons due to World War I.  Physicians had to treat a large number of wounded soldiers for all types of injuries.  This gave physicians a chance to improve their reconstructive skills.  Aesthetic surgical procedures also developed during this time as people began to realize how someone’s talent and value might be over looked by society due to a deformity or imperfection.

By the 1950’s, the idea of enhancing beauty through plastic surgery starting spreading throughout the population, hitting Hollywood first!  One of the most iconic gals in show time, Marilyn Monroe, turned to plastic surgery for a chin augmentation to help her land a gig in the movies - next thing you know, she hit the big screen.  Other movie stars to partake in a little nip & tuck to maintain their youthful looks were the beautiful Rita Hayworth, Joan Crawford and Elizabeth Taylor.

Nowadays, plastic surgery is more popular than ever!  Thanks to cutting-edge science and technology of the 2000’s the quality behind plastic surgery has made it a forefront in the medical profession.  With the internet providing a convenient way of sharing information on all procedures from Breast Augmentations to Brazilian Butt Lifts, aesthetic plastic surgery has become more accessible to the mainstream public.

Not only are the rich and famous indulging in plastic surgery to look their best on screen, many everyday people are seeking out the best plastic surgeons to look and feel their best too!

Call today to learn more about our expert and board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Armando Soto and the services we offer here at our Orlando, Florida Plastic Surgery, Skincare and Hair Restoration Center - let us help you look and feel your very best!

Letting it All Grow Out For Fall!

Getting a monthly hair dye can be a pricey chore, but thanks to celeb’s new trend, roots are in!  Who would have thought that having dark roots and lighter sun kissed ends would ever be a sought after style?  This new hairdo is a dream come true for the low maintenance girl and is easy on the pocketbook!  Check out the stars making a statement with their new ombre do...

The Right Way To Root

Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lauren Conrad are just a few examples of blonde bombshells who have given their longer roots a chance!  Growing your roots out more than a few inches will make your worn out locks look more like a new hairstyle, rather than a result of laziness (or lack of cash)!  Plus, spreading out your color treatments will be less damaging to your stresses.

Blondes Don’t Have All The Fun!
These three starlets prove this look isn’t just for blondes!  Brunettes can rock their roots as well adding a nice contrast with the darker and lighter shades of brown.  Ashlee’s style gives her an edgier, rocker image.  If this isn’t the statement you’d like to make, you could try a softer, sweeter look like Jessica Biel or Rachel Bilson!

So maybe you should think twice before scheduling your next hair appointment... or perhaps this is a style stunt that only the rich & famous can pull off!
